Hand applied “thrown” floating coats

The traditional method of applying stucco base layers and mouldings is to throw the wet material hard onto the wall, this creates a tight, compressed base coat that is ruled off to pre formed screeds

The technique is ideal for applying thin and uniform base coats, especially fast setting natural cements and stucco work. Trowel applied finishes could not be applied this tight
