Ornamental mouldings, cornices and casting

When a listed or period interior needs a cornice, fireplace surround or running moulding that belongs to the building, you cannot order it from a catalogue. We take the profile from what is already there — then cast, run or reproduce it.

How we work

  • Profile gauges, drawings and raking-light photography of the original
  • Traditional reverse moulds from surviving details
  • Casting in plaster, Jesmonite (including iron-character finishes) and GRP
  • In-situ run cornices, panels and decorative features
  • CNC and 3D scanning where the geometry is complex — always finished by hand

Typical work

Cornice reinstatement, ceiling enrichment, ironwork reproductions, curved fireplace surrounds derived from original panelling, staircase mouldings.

Why it matters on listed buildings

The profile is specific to the building. Get the shadow-line wrong and the new work will always look like an addition. Matching light and shade is the job — not a generic ornate section.
